All but one of the women who worked on the quilt are members of Christ Community United Methodist Church in Butler Pennsylvania. Six of us- myself (Mary Ann Hiser, Martha Mine, Janet Black, Mary Spence, Carolyn Glendening and Linda Muchicko pieced the quilt and then some additional church members who are part of our church quilting group helped us quilt it – Grace Younkins, Jean Clark, Janet DeLair, and Audrey Orsborn,
We became interested in the Sari Bari project through Kenny who had emailed me and said he thought I should make a quilt for the project. I knew I could not complete a large quilt by myself in 4 months. I began to ask friends who quilt and/or sew if they would like to help, and our core group of 6 came together very quickly. When the other women who belong to the quilt group at Christ Community said they would interrupt their other quilting to help us, I knew we could complete the quilt on time. What an amazing group of women to work with! We had a wonderful time working on this project and hope that it makes a significant contribution to Sari Bari.
